The Challenge

Sui is a fast-growing Layer 1 blockchain with global ambitions — but global protocols often struggle to build genuine local roots. The challenge: make Sui feel relevant and accessible to Detroit's developer and founder community, not just another protocol pitching from a stage.

What I Owned

• GTM Strategy — Owned Detroit market entry planning and execution for Sui
• Partnerships — Coordinated with Sui Community, ETH Detroit, and Chainlink
• Production — Venue, catering, giveaway logistics, and on-site execution at Bamboo Detroit
• Community — Token-gated RSVP, wallet setup guidance, and ecosystem education

Key Decisions & Execution

The "Detroit Style" framing was intentional — by anchoring a global protocol to local identity (Detroit pizza, Detroit venue, Detroit community), we made Sui feel like a neighbor, not a visitor. The Ledger Nano X giveaway created a tangible incentive for wallet setup, directly driving on-chain onboarding. Timing the event alongside Sui Overflow 2025 gave attendees an immediate next step: a $500K+ global hackathon.
